 :: PRESS RELEASE ::
:: To All Compact Speedcar Members

Tuesday, 2 March 2010
ACSA

Open letter to all Compact Speedcar members.

Recently the delegates of the Australian Compact Speedcar Association held a meeting to discuss the issues that have arisen as a result of several Compact Speedcars being raced as Lightning Sprints.

Compact Speedcars are not a part of the Lightning Sprint merged class. All clubs voted unanimously not to be a part of this merger.

As a result of that meeting a rule was introduced. That rule being: 1.3.22 Any Vehicle registered through the A.C.S.A. or its affiliated clubs will be ineligible to compete in any sanctioned A.C.S.A. event if the Car holds dual registration with any other Association or Club not affiliated with the A.C.S.A.

The constitution of the A.C.S.A. states that:

The objects of the association is to encourage the sport of Compact Speedcar racing and to promote the spirit of sportsmanship and good fellowship amongst members.

To control and guard the interests of member clubs competing in Compact Speedcar Racing within Australia.

The first paragraph of the A.C.S.A. Rule book states:

A.C.S.A. SPECIFICATIONS
A.C.S.A Specifications to remain in force until July 1st, 2010, without any change, unless the Committee agrees a Rule or Specification should be changed on the grounds of safety. Alterations, amendments and/or variations to the rules/specifications may only be accepted by a full meeting of A.C.S.A.

As all members would be aware the A.C.S.A. rule book has been re-written to incorporate sections of NASR’s racing rules and regulations. This meant the old section 7 had to be deleted. This section included some rules that were specific to Compact Speedcars. In the future it may be required to add or amend further rules as the need arises as a result of the deletion of this section.
